CookCardz

Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 22, 2026

The short version

We try to collect as little as possible. Your favorites and the ingredients you've ticked off live on your device. We don't sell your data. Ever.

1. Who we are

CookCardz ("we", "us", "our") is operated by WRTHWHILE (ABN 71 181 136 188), a registered Australian business based in New South Wales. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the CookCardz app and any related services.

2. What we store on your device

CookCardz uses your browser's local storage to remember things like your favorite recipes, unit preferences, and which ingredients or utensils you've ticked off in a recipe. This data stays on your device and is not sent to us.

3. Information you give us

If you create an account we collect your email address and a password (stored as a hash, never in plain text). If you subscribe, our payment provider collects your billing details on our behalf; we receive a subscription status and a customer reference, not your full card number.

If you email us at support@cookcardz.com, we'll have your email address and whatever you wrote. We use that only to reply to you.

4. How we use your information

We use your information to provide the Service (sign you in, keep your subscription active, deliver recipes), to keep the Service secure, to respond to support requests, and to comply with our legal obligations. We don't sell your personal information and we don't share it with third parties for their own marketing.

5. Service providers we use

We use trusted service providers to run the Service. These currently include Supabase (database and authentication) and Stripe (payments). We also rely on a hosting and development platform to run the app. These providers process your information on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments, and only as needed to deliver the Service.

6. Analytics

We may use privacy-friendly analytics to understand which recipes are popular and where the app is slow. We don't use this to track you across the web.

7. Kids

CookCardz is designed to be safe for kids cooking with a parent or guardian. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children without parental consent. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we'll delete it.

8. Data retention

We keep your account and subscription information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we need to keep limited records to meet legal, tax or fraud-prevention obligations.

9. Your rights & choices

You can clear local data at any time by clearing your browser storage for CookCardz. If you have an account, you can access, correct or delete your personal information from your account settings, or by emailing us. Depending on where you live, you may also have additional rights under local privacy law - including the right to complain to a privacy regulator (in Australia, the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner).

10. International transfers

Our service providers may store or process your information in countries other than your own. Where they do, we rely on their contractual and technical protections to keep your information secure.

11. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, let you know in the app or by email.
