Everything you might want to know about CookCardz - from how the timers work to how support workers use it with clients.
Why the subscription?
You may have noticed other cooking tools that are free are crowded with ads and pop ups. This alone can turn people away from cooking. It makes it far too over stimulating, crowded, confusing and difficult to follow along. We have put a lot of consideration into making this tool easy to follow. The page not being crowded is one of those considerations.

Is CookCardz suitable for people with a disability?
Yes. CookCardz was built with people with disability in mind. Steps are short and clear, one at a time, with a clear tick to mark them off and timers that keep running in the background. It's used by people with a range of disabilities. We have also found early users find it a great way to plan their meals. This particularly helps with capacity building around planning and preparing meals. We've also had feedback that it's a great tool for support workers and carers to use when supporting people who are unable to cook for themselves.
Can support workers and carers use CookCardz with clients?
Absolutely. Support workers, disability carers, and family members use CookCardz to help clients and family members build kitchen confidence. The clear step by step layout removes the guesswork so the focus stays on cooking together and building confidence in the kitchen.
Is CookCardz good for kids learning to cook?
Yes. Kids can follow along independently thanks to the simple language, one-step-at-a-time layout, and built-in timers. Great for building confidence without an adult reading over their shoulder.
Do the timers keep running if I lock my phone?
Yes. Timers use a background-safe deadline so they keep counting even if you leave the page, lock your phone, or come back later.
Can I switch between metric and imperial measurements?
Yes. Every recipe has a toggle to switch between Metric (grams, millilitres, °C) and Imperial (cups, ounces, °F) so it works whether you're in Australia, the UK, the US, or anywhere else.
Does CookCardz show fan-forced and conventional oven temperatures?
Yes. Where an oven is used, CookCardz shows Fan Forced, Conventional, and Air Fryer temperatures side by side so you don't have to guess or convert.
